It's been WAY to long...!!

Wow, Ive been away for too long! Now that the rush of Christmas and the New year are over I feel like I can get back to scrapbooking :) There are so many wonderful new paper packs and products in the new Close To My Heart Idea Book (that will be out soon). I can't hardly wait to share with everyone!!
However... first, I'd like to share what's been keeping me SO busy. The craziest thing happen to me when I attended a baby shower for a very good friends daughter a few months ago. Sherri had made her daughter the most beautiful baby quilt I had ever seen....I absolutely fell in love with it!! It wasn't your normal looking baby quilt, to me it had a very up beat, today type look to it. I was so impressed with her eye for fabric and choice of pattern that I knew then I HAD to learn how to piece quilts... Now, let me tell you a little secret about me. I HATE to sew, yep, can't stand it. My grandmother, mother and sister can all sew anything in the world you might need. My poor mother has given me two sewing machines over the years in hopes it might trigger something in me. Nope, never happened. I put them in the closet never to see them again. Then in one of my trips back home to Albuquerque my 96 year old grandmother(love her dearly) gave me yet another sewing machine. As history would repeat it's self I acted happy to get it, packed it in the car to move it to it's new home in....yes the closet. A few weeks later I'm in the shop trimming a friends hair. I mention to Paula the gorgeous quilt Sherri had made and my interest in learning how. Paula says "I've wanted to learn how too, we should find a class" Well... it's all history from there...Paula and I have gone absolutely quilting crazy!! These pictures below will explain to you just how crazy I've been and why my scrapbooking has been on the back burner. And.....believe it or not all these we finished in time to wrap up and put under the tree for the kids. In the madness of finishing these all up in time for Christmas I didn't get pictures of 3 others, Yes, I said THREE! I told you I went quilt crazy!
Hopefully the next pictures posted will be of beautiful layouts made with Close To My Hearts new paper packs!!

October 9th at 10:00am is the next scrapbooking workshop. The paper we'll be using is the Olivia. This paper is absolutely beautiful...!! We will be doing both the Workshop On The Go and the Level 1 kit. There is no charge for the workshop you only purchase your paper kits! You will complete 8 12X12 layouts at this workshop and if we have enough time we'll make 6 cards.

I will be placing the order for this workshop the first week of October to insure our kits are here by the 9th. If you can't make the workshop you can still order and work on it at home :)

This is the layout for the Bethany Library workshop. All CTMH.... paper: Mistletoe, card stock: Cranberry and Garden Green. Stamp sets are Snow Flurries and Building Block Alphabet.
Inks used are Cocoa and New England Ivy.

WOW... August sure got here fast and with a heat wave! I'm all ready for this months Workshop On The Go.We'll be doing the Passages paper packet. Here are the cards I made for my hostess this month.
Stamp sets used are Cottage Floral & Follow Your Heart.
Paper is Grace.
Card Stock is Colonial white & Barn Red. I
Inks are Honey & Barn Red. Then for a little bling I added CTMH's Sparkles!

Great way to get a lot of pictures on a layout

Here are 2 of the 4 pages I made with the level 1 Passages. These two pages have a total of 11 pictures and there is room for 2 more! The photo flaps hold 8.

The Zippidee workshop today was The Bomb! You know, the bomb, as in a good way bomb? WOW, these ladies were moving right along. They finished up 8 12x12 pages and 6 cards!! Pictured here are the cards they made.

Aright!! Finished up the last two of eight pages for this weekends Workshop On The Go "WOTG" How cool is that! I have been known to be up at midnight the night before finishing up the last two pages.... thinking I must like the rush since I continue to do it.

These layouts are from the Zippidee WOTG.

I've just finished up these cards as a hostess gift for this weekends workshop.
All my supplies are Close To My Heart. Card stock: Colonial White and Bamboo. Inks: Tulip and Desert Sand. Stamp set is Aspiration. I left the bottom corner blank for the hostess to stamp her own greeting.
